SOUTH CIRCUIT Presents
THE STORY OF SISTER AIDA ROSA PEREZ A NUN OF THE SISTERS OF CHARITY WHO DIED IN A COMMUNIST JAIL IN CUBA WITHOUT MEDICAL ASSISTANCE IN 1967.

Sister Aida Rosa Perez was a nun of the Sisters of Charity, with a strong faith, engaged in helping those in need as all the other nuns in the Order of Charity.

Sister Aida was the daughter of the ex owner of the movie theater Aida confiscated by the Communist in the city of Pinar-del-Rio. One day in January 1967 she was arrested by the henchman of the Marxist State Security Police for no reason and was taken to the headquarters of G2 or State Security Police.

In the headquarters of State Security she was submitted to brutal interrogatories despite she suffered from cardiac deficiency. She was repeatedly asked if she was helping anti-Communist counter revolutionaries. The policeman that interrogated her did not care if she was a religious worker, a female or a sick person. After several weeks under inhuman conditions beaten, tortured with lights and darkness and with low and high temperatures they sent her to another prison. Sister Aida did not confess anything because she had nothing to confess neither her torturers had any evidence against her. They even lye telling her they were going to release her soon. In prison she was isolated and interrogated several more times.

After months of Calvary sister Aida under these tortures suffered another heart attack in jail in December 1967. Sister of Charity Aida Rosa Perez, 42 years of age, died without receiving medical attention in her jail.
