
The lawyer Edmunda Serrat Barrios opposed
the pre potent judicial system of the Cuban Communist regime and was
sent to jail as a political prisoner. She went to do forced labor in
Granja America a Cuban concentration camp in the Province of Havana.
After three years she was released. Edmunda became involved in
defending cases against the government.

In one of the cases she was defending, she objected the conduct of the judges and exclaimed the judges were not the G2 and they had to change their attitude. In that instant the members of the Interior Ministry attending the procedure and who were in control of the trial ordered the detention of the defense lawyer Serrat in front of everybody. The State Security Police took her to be interrogated in Villa Marista the State Security Headquarters. |
